Welcome! My name is Jen. Small Towns Big City is home to all things travel and adventures at home. This website is dedicated to the love of charming small towns and the excitement of big cities. We love both equally!
I was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, and am currently a self-proclaimed Texan. I am the queen of weekend budget trips, a lover of dirty rap music and farmers’ markets. I have perfected box cake and eat tortilla chips. Every. Single. Day. I am a little city, a little country. I am most undoubtedly tiny house obsessed, an unapologetic Hello Kitty fan. A pizza, and a donut enthusiast.
Small Towns Big City Line Up-
Morgan, the oldest is witty, funny, and a brilliant writer; she is 24. She lives in Maryland with her husband, Angel. She is an animal activist and often fosters from shelters. She is currently exploring Maryland, Virginia, DC, & West Virginia.
Tayla, is my expensive, intelligent, hilarious 18-year-old. She is my travel and eating buddy. She is my ride-or-die and my New York City travel companion. She has been accepted to the University of Oklahoma and will be attending in the fall.
Aj, my only boy, is the sweetest, kindest person on the planet who gives the best hugs. Aj is 11. He is my kid that loves to cozy up and watch movies with a cup of hot chocolate. He also is my Texas road trip companion. We explore Texas together and do fun weekend trips.
Harper, the baby, and the boss. Harper is my active, already sarcastic, 5-year-old. You will often see tons of toddler content because my life’s purpose has become to keep her busy, engaged, and entertained.
Yes, I have generations of kids….
We currently are in Texas. 30 miles outside of Dallas and 15 miles from Fort Worth. Anything Texas, this is your spot. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions on Texas travel or food 🙂
We travel to Las Vegas a lot, our family still lives there. And, New York City is where our heart is. I often travel to NYC solo and sometimes I take Tayla with me. We are ready to explore all parts of the United States and take you along with us.
Our tiny adventures are not just traveling. Our adventures lead to motherhood topics like co-parenting, toddler activities, teen life, and reading when we are home. You will find some easy recipes. If I can accomplish that recipe in the kitchen, you can too! This blog is a little bit of everything, and I will have something for everyone, promise.
We would love for you to be part of our tiny adventures, welcome. Here’s to small towns and the big city!
