Brigit’s Bakery Facebook

Located in Covent Garden, London, B-Bakery is one of the best things to do in London with teens and kids. Brigit’s Bakery takes you on a sightseeing tour with a lovely London afternoon tea with your teen (they have charming Peppa Pig and Paddington Bear tea tours too)

This charming spot is famous for its adorable bus tours, where you can enjoy classic British treats like scones, sandwiches, and an array of sweet cakes.

The most popular and the one I highly recommend is the standard bus route that departs from Victoria Coach Station and Trafalgar Square.

Thames RIB Experience

We did the Thames Rib Boat on our very last day in London. It was the best thing we did in London, especially for the kids and teens. It is an exciting and thrilling ride with unbeatable views of London Tower and the skylines.

Thames River speed boat tour

Teenagers are already full of adrenaline, so why not channel that energy into something adventurous? The Thames RIB Experience at Embankment Pier brings you London’s fastest speedboat tour.

It’s a fantastic ride with thrilling turns and spins while taking in the sights of London’s iconic landmarks.

They provide a high-speed boat tour on Rigid boats zipping down the River Thames. Usually, the boat departs from Tower Millennium Pier or Embankment Pier near the Tower of London, and runs seven days a week, all year round.

For parents worried about safety concerns, they provide life vests. Their boats are fully loaded with PA systems, 740 HP Yanmar high-performance engines, safety rails, and all the necessary gear to keep your family secure.

Our five-year-old did great, and after doing it, I feel like it’s more than safe.

If you want to book your tour, you can find the Thames RIB Experience HERE.

Westminster Abbey

Westminster Abbey Inside. London

Westminter Abbey London

If your teens are into history, they would surely love to see Westminster Abbey, the final resting place of more than 30 kings and queens. It is one of London’s most iconic landmarks and an absolute must-see for anyone interested in the Royal Family.

Located in the heart of London, it’s home to royal tombs, stunning architecture, and a history dating back to the 13th to 16th centuries.

Here, you will find the memorials of famous historical figures like Queen Elizabeth I, Charles Darwin, and even the beloved poet Geoffrey Chaucer.

For teens, Westminster Abbey can be an incredible mix of history and mystery. It is a place that’s been part of the biggest events in British history, like royal weddings and coronations, that you won’t find in a textbook. You can take a guided tour or simply go around and explore London’s rich history.

Peggy Porschen

Peggy Porschen is one of the prettiest cake parlors in London. This adorable pink and pastel-themed cafe is located on the iconic King’s Road in Ebury Street. The owner says the color theme represents modern romance, craftsmanship, and top-tier taste, and honestly, it gives off fairy-tale vibes.

When it comes to food, the menu can please both sweet-toothed Londoners and tourists from all around the globe.

You can expect freshly cut sandwiches to light, fluffy scones, and delicious themed patisserie.  And let’s not forget the seasonal Kirsch Royale, dainty cups of tea, and those irresistible sweet bites.

They even have a vegan-friendly afternoon tea menu, with the Raspberry & Passionfruit Cupcakes being my personal favorite.

Tower of London

London Tower

Are your teens into history?

Even if they are not, the Tower of London should be on your list. This iconic castle sits right on the River Thames in central London.

Built by William the Conqueror in 1066, it is currently preserved by Historic Royal Palaces.

When visiting, you can explore its medieval walls, and the White Tower, see beefeaters (Yeoman Warders), and see where executions such as those of Anne Boleyn took place.

It’s also famous for housing the Crown Jewels, which are displayed for public viewing.

The highlight of the Tower of London is the legend of the Tower Ravens. It is said that the kingdom will fall if the ravens ever leave the Tower of London. The ravens are carefully looked after and kept within the grounds to prevent that from happening.

You may see these intelligent birds mimicking sounds and playing games during your visit. But remember, don’t feed ravens, as they can bite if they feel their territory is threatened.

The Royal Mews in Buckingham Palace

The Royal Mews London

The Royal Mews is another gem of British Royalty located at Buckingham Palace. The Mews are where royal carriages, horses, and state vehicles are kept.

One of the best things we saw in London was the Gold State Coach, which has been used for coronations since 1762.

The Royal Mews

Your family will love seeing the grand carriages and one of the finest working stables. During your visit, you’ll get the chance to see the livery worn by The King’s coachmen. You may notice that different liveries are used for various occasions, but apart from a few small tweaks, they’re the same as in Victorian times.

The London Eye

The London Eye

The London Eye is another captivating tourist attraction. If you want to have a lively moment with your family and teens, book your ride in The London Eye.

Located on the South Bank of the River Thames opposite Big Ben, this giant Ferris wheel gives a 360-degree view of the city.

The Wheel stands tall at 135 meters, which means you can get panoramic sights of landmarks like Buckingham Palace, the Houses of Parliament, and St.Paul’s Cathedral.

You can also enjoy a traditional afternoon tea with iconic views of the London Eye and the River Thames, at Eye Lounge Bar of the London Eye.

The London Dungeon

The London Dungeon
The London Dungeon Website

The London Dungeon is where you can get serious spine-chills. Right on the South Bank, this attraction brings London’s dark history to life with a mix of live actors, special effects, and some seriously freaky rides.

If your teens love a bit of horror and dark humor, this place is a must-visit (and slightly terrifying).

You can get the gruesome tales of the Great Plague, the creepy mystery of Jack the Ripper, and the city’s most eerie stories.

With all the creepy characters lurking around, hidden traps, and moments that’ll have you jumping out of your seat. Well, it’s a fun, heart-racing experience at the same time.

Kensington Palace and Gardens

Kensington Palace

Next, the gorgeous Kensington Palace. The palace where Princess Victoria was born and current royals live.

We spent a good amount of time on the grounds of Kensington Palace, walking & taking in the beauty.

Take your teens to Kensington Palace and discover her fascinating life in the rooms where she was born and raised. Inside the palace are kept the personal items from her early years, including the poignant scrapbook of mementos and Victoria’s doll house.

As you explore, don’t miss the King’s and Queen’s State Apartments in the palace.  These rooms have many stunning sculptures stored and works of art, such as terracotta busts of George II and his wife, Queen Caroline. Moreover, the palace has beautiful gardens and green spaces, perfect for picnics or simply enjoying nature.

Windsor Castle and Windsor Carriages

Windsor Castle London

Windsor Castle

Windsor Castle is the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world, located in Windsor, Berkshire.

It was founded by William the Conqueror in the 11th century, and since then it has served as home for 40 monarchs.

It is open to visitors throughout the year. Inside, you’ll find lavishly decorated rooms with priceless artwork. There is a luxurious display of 1000-year-old royal aesthetics, you can enjoy the sight of its historical towers and breathtaking views of the grounds.

If you’re planning a trip to Windsor, I would recommend hiring a private carriage ride. People are unaware of this feature offered at the castle. It would be such a treat. These horse-drawn taxi rides along The Long Walk at Windsor Castle add a bit of royalty to your day.

Warner Bros Studio Tour

Warner Bros. Studio Facebook

No doubt, the Big Screen and its secrets are so fascinating for teens. Located just outside of Central London, this behind-the-scenes tour of Warner Bros Studio takes you through the magical world of how the films were brought to life. This is one of the best things to do with teens in London, and very fascinating for the whole family too.

Currently, tickets are available for the Harry Potter Tour (and sell out fast). You’ll get to walk through iconic sets like the Great Hall, Diagon Alley, and the Forbidden Forest, while also seeing the mesmerizing props, costumes, and special effects.

The Natural History Museum

London Natural History Musuem
The Outside of the Natural History Museum London

Looking for free things to do in London with teenagers? The Natural History Museum is a perfect choice.

Located in South Kensington, the Natural History Museum is best known for its dinosaur exhibits with fossils nearly 4.6 billion years old.

I would consider the massive blue whale skeleton hanging in the main hall as the highlight of this museum.

If your teens are into science, you can explore a variety of galleries in the Natural History Museum. Plus, the research projects there use advanced techniques to explore new questions to benefit both people and the planet. What better place to spark your teen’s curiosity?

Also, if you’re planning on going back more than once, getting a membership for your teens is a great idea. They’ll get discounts on fun events like Silent Discos and Dino Snores, plus enjoy free cloakroom service!

We recommend booking your free tickets in advance. You can find tickets HERE

The Cotswolds

The Cotswolds

Looking to shake things up during your London trip?

One of the most surprising (and totally worthwhile) things to do in London with teenagers is to actually leave the city, just for the day!

We spent five days in the Cotswolds, and my younger child and my teenage son LOVED it.

A day trip to the Cotswolds is like stepping into a real-life storybook, complete with charming villages, rolling hills, and Insta-worthy stone cottages. Teens will love the slower pace, scenic walks, and maybe even the novelty of traditional cream tea (bonus points if you make it a competition to spot the cutest cottage!).

It’s a perfect way to balance out the urban buzz with a breath of fresh countryside air—and trust us, even the moodiest teens tend to soften under a thatched roof.

Stonehenge

Stonehenge

If you’re on the hunt for unforgettable things to do in London with teenagers, consider adding a little ancient mystery and countryside charm to your itinerary with a day trip to Stonehenge.

This iconic stone circle isn’t just Insta-famous—it’s genuinely mind-blowing, and even the most unimpressed teens will be asking, “Wait, how did they build this?”

To level up the adventure, book a tour that also swings through the postcard-perfect Cotswolds or the grand halls and grounds of Highclere Castle (yes, Downton Abbey fans, that one!). It’s the kind of day where history, fresh air, and a touch of TV magic come together—and it just might be one of the most memorable parts of your London trip.

Highclere Castle-Downton Abbey

Highclere Castle

For a day trip that’s equal parts regal and relaxing, Highclere Castle is a hidden gem among the top things to do in London with teenagers. Whether they’re Downton Abbey fans or just love a good castle moment (let’s be real—who doesn’t?), exploring this stunning estate and the enormous grounds feels like stepping onto a movie set.

The grand rooms, sweeping gardens, and fascinating history make it more than just a pretty place—there’s actually a ton to learn and explore.

Bonus: the drive through the English countryside is a scenic win in itself. It’s a fun, photo-worthy escape from the city that offers a little fantasy.

The Shard

London and The Shard
The Shard London Facebook

When it comes to sky-high adventures, visiting The Shard is hands-down one of the coolest things to do in London with teenagers.

Soaring nearly 1,000 feet above the city, this iconic glass tower offers jaw-dropping views that even the most screen-obsessed teens will want to snap.

The elevator ride is a thrill, but it’s the view from the top—where you can spot everything from Tower Bridge to the London Eye—that steals the show.

After soaking in the scenery, head down for lunch at nearby Borough Market, where teens can choose from endless foodie faves (yes, there’s bubble tea and gourmet donuts).

Still got energy?

Wander along the South Bank, hit up the Tate Modern, or just enjoy the vibe of this buzzy part of the city. It’s the perfect mix of culture, coolness, and carbs—a teen travel win.

Borough Market

Borough Market London
Borough Market Website

If you are looking for things to do in London with teenagers, feeding them will always please them. Borough Market is the perfect place to keep them happy.

Right by London Bridge, this iconic market has been serving up amazing street food, fresh produce, and global flavors for over 1,000 years.

Since 1756, their food items have been made and sold in ways that are better for people, for the planet, and, of course, for the sheer joy of eating.

I bet there’s something for every taste, such as the gourmet burgers, fresh pasta,  epic doughnuts, and artisan cheeses!

Plus, there are loads of free tasters, so you can try stuff before you commit. The buzzing stalls, friendly traders, and proper London atmosphere make it a cracking place to wander.

So, if you’re after a fun, stress-free, and ridiculously tasty day out with your teen, Borough Market should be top of your list.

Buckingham Palace

Buckingham Palace
Buckingham Palace Facebook

For a royal experience that keeps teens engaged, visiting the State Rooms at Buckingham Palace is one of the more unexpected wins when it comes to things to do in London with teenagers.

Open for a limited time each summer, this behind-the-gates peek into palace life is seriously impressive—even to a teen who “doesn’t care about history.”

The sheer scale, gold-trimmed everything, and real-life throne room give major wow-factor. Plus, there’s something cool about walking through rooms that are still used for royal events today.

Throw in the audio guide (surprisingly teen-friendly) and a stop at the gift shop for a royal souvenir, and suddenly, you’ve got a day they’ll actually tell their friends about.

After exploring the palace, stroll through nearby Green Park for some fresh air and photo ops, then grab a bite at a nearby café—there are plenty of lunch spots on Piccadilly that won’t break the royal bank.

It’s a fun, fancy, and surprisingly teen-approved way to spend the day.

Changing of the Guard

Changing of the Guards
The Royal Trust Facebook

If you’re looking for iconic and free things to do in London with teenagers, don’t skip the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace. Sure, it’s traditional and a bit formal—but it’s also a full-on spectacle with marching bands, shiny boots, and guards that somehow stay stone-faced no matter what.

Teens will love the sheer drama of it all (and let’s be honest, it’s pretty fun to guess who’s actually paying attention).

The ceremony takes place at 10:45 AM every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday and lasts for about 45 minutes.

Insider Tip: We recommend securing a spot near the Victoria Memorial. After the parade, take some time to explore nearby St. James’s Park.

Neal’s Yard in Covent Garden

Neals Yard London
Covent Garden Facebook

Lastly, Neal’s Yard is a popular colorful courtyard within Seven Dials where you can find many independent restaurants, cafes, shops, and well-being brands. Taking its name from businessman Thomas Neale, the place was previously used for storage purposes in the 1970s. Today, it’s a lively spot where thousands of people come to enjoy food, health products, and fresh veggies.

Talking about the local eateries, this is so refreshing and natural, such as London’s fluffiest doughnut or freshest baked goods from St John Bakery. Plus, if you’re in the mood for something a little different, The Barbary Next Door offers delicious Middle Eastern-inspired dishes with a focus on Barbary flavors.

Conclusion

Let’s be real—traveling with teens isn’t always easy, but London makes it way more fun. Between the epic views, quirky neighborhoods, and spots that are actually cool (even by teen standards), there are a ton of awesome things to do in London with teenagers.

Whether we were climbing to the top of the Shard, eating our way through Borough Market, or getting lost in the magic of Harry Potter, there was never a dull moment. London won us over—and if you’re heading there with teens, trust me, it’ll win you over too.
